Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Antervedi is Significant pilgrim center in the east godavari District of Andhra pradesh. Antarvedi is a sangam point of 3-Point junction of Godavari river and the sea-the Sagara Sangamam. It is said that river was brought in by the famous maharishi vashishth who is one of the seven great sages according to the Hindu Mythology. Antarvedi in the East Godavari district is a beautiful temple town and it has a beach too. Lakshmi narasimha swamy temple is 5th-century temple that\’s located right where Bay Of Bengal meets a tributary of River Godavari.

History:

Antarvedi Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple History In Kritayuga, Sage Sounaka and his colleagues gathered in Naimisaranya to conduct Satrayaga. In the their Leisure time, they used to learn about the distinguished and significant historical India Shrines from Suta, a quaranic narrator. One day, they asked him to tell about the greatness and significance of Antarvedi Shrine and of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. Suta was pleased to tell the story which was once told by Lord Brahma to Sage Narada. Lord bramha performed Rudrayaga, for get freedom from all sins he had committed against lord shiva. Lord Brahma installed an idol of lord neela kantheswara there.

Later, Raktavilochana, the son of Hiranyaksha, did penance for over ten thousand years on the banks of Vasishta river, to please Lord Shiva. The Lord was pleased with Raktavilochana’s penance and blessed him with one wish. Antarvedi Temple, Raktavilochana had a rather uncommon desire – he asked that the number of sand particles drenched by the blood drops falling from his body on to the ground at war, would produce equal number of Rakshasas, as strong and vigorous as himself, and they would assist him at war and become one with him after killing all the enemies. Raktavilochana used his power to disrupt the Yagnas of Sages and harassed Brahmans. Sage Vishwamitra took this as an opportunity to avenge Sage Vasishta and provoked Raktavilochana to kill Vasishta’s hundred sons. Sage Vasishta, who was at Brahmaloka when his sons were murdered, returned to his ashram and prayed for Lord Narasimha’s grace. Construction and architecture described as In Kaliyuga, A cowherd named Mandapati Kesavadasu discovered the Idol while grazing the cattle. Later on, Reddy Kings built the temple using bamboo sticks. As per the inscriptions, this temple was rebuilt by Kopanati Krishnamma of Agni Kula Kshatriya in 1823 A.D.

Antarvedi is said to be the second Varanasi by the grace of the Lord. The residents of the shrine have a fear of the floods or of the drought. A more wish to visit this holy place, will bless the devotees with desired results. Thus the great glory of the shrine is boundless.

Story:

in Dwaparayuga, Arjuna the Pandava king worshipped the Lord here during his pilgrimage.Another legend says that when a fisherman was fishing in the river Raktakulya, an idol of Kurma Avatar got struck in his fishing net. He thought that it was a pearl oyster and tried to open it and started hitting it with a stone. Then suddenly blood oozed from the Idol and he fell unconscious. Then a divine voice told him to keep this Idol at Lord’s feet and perform Abhishekam daily. The fisherman kept the Idol at the Lord’s feet and it is being worshipped.
