Mahanadi Temple is the abode of Sri Mahanandeeswara Swamy(Lord Shiva) and Goddess Sri Kameswari Devi. 1500 years ancient Mahanandishwara Temple. Mahanandi is at a distance of around 19 km from the Nandyal Town in Kurnool district. Mahanandeeswara, the presiding deity of the temple is in the form of Shiva Lingam which is believed as Swayabhu Linga.

Early morning 4.30 am to 5.00 a.m. Suprabhatha seva, Between 5.00 .m to 5.30 am. Sthanika Abhishekam, Bindhe seva is performed, Astavidha Maha Mangala Harathi is performed between 5.30 am to 6.30 am, Sarva Darshan Seva is performed all the time. The temple is surrounded by pleasant streams and fresh natural water pools.

The main Gopuram of this temple resembles Badami Chalukyan style architecture where as other temple structures resemble the Vijayanagara style. Maha Shivaratri, Ugadi, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Kartika Poornima and Dasara are some of the famous festivals celebrated in Mahanandi.

This is one of the biggest temples in India, dedicated Lord Shiva. An inscription on a copper plate by Krishandevaraya states that, Mahanandi is one of the sacred places, where the king’s brother Simha Deva Raya gave valuable gifts. The Shivaratri is the most famous festival of Lord Shiva. The standard belief is that worship of these Nava Nandis should be finished in day light before sunset. The other festivals like Dasara, Ugadi are also celebrated in Mahanandi.

    .one of 50rs to enter temple premises and other of 30 rs to go into temple stating mandatory.
