Importance Of Vaikunta Ekadasi: Vaikuntha is the region of Shri Vishnu. It is above the seven regions of Heaven & is divinely beautiful. Unable to bear his atrocities, Devas approached Lord Vishnu. Vishnu fought the Asura, but he soon realized that the demon could be killed only with a new weapon or female energy. He immediately entered a cave and decided to take a rest. When Muran tried to kill Lord Vishnu, who was sleeping, a female power emerged from Vishnu and burned him into ashes with her glance. After waking up, Vishnu got pleased with her and named the energy as ‘Ekadasi’ and gifted her boon to ask anything. Ekadashi asked Lord Vishnu that devotees who observed a Vrat on that day should be absolved of their sins and reach Vaikunth.
