Temple is located in Kadapa. it is just 7 kilometers away from the kadapa railway station and 4 kilometers from Kadapa busstand. Devuni Kadapa temple is also known as Tirumala Tholi Gadapa and is very famous for Venkateswara swamy temple. Devuni gadapa means entrance for Lord Venkateswara Swamy. The Idol of the Lord Venkateswara has been established by Kripacharya, hence the ancient name of devuni Kadapa is also mentioned in Puranas as “Kripavathi Kshetram”. The Idol of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy has been installed by Kripacharya. In Puranas, Devuni Kadapa is mentioned as “Kripavathi Kshetram”. In the olden days, Pilgrims visit this temple before starting their journey towards Tirumala.

Devuni Kadapa Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Temple is well known as Hanumath Kshetram as there is an idol of lord Hanuman behind Lord Venkateshwara Swamy. It is believed that the idol was installed by Sage Kripacharya. Devuni Kadapa Temple History, Timings

Andhra Pradesh, Kadapa was a part of the Chola Empire between the 11th and 14th centuries AD. It became part of the Vijayanagar Empire in the latter part of 14th century. Most beautiful and amazing architecture around all andhra pradesh temples. The region was under the control of Gandikota Nayaks, governors of the Vijayanagara empire for about two centuries.

The most illustrious ruler during this time was Pemmasani Thimma Nayudu (1422 CE) (Pemmasani Nayaks) who developed the region and constructed many tanks and temples here. Muslims of Golkonda conquered the region in 1565 CE when Mir Jumla raided Gandikota fort and defeated Chinna Thimma Nayudu by treachery. Later the British took control of Kadapa District in 1800 CE. Although the town is an ancient one, it was probably extended by Neknam Khan, the Qutb Shahi commander, who called the extension \”Neknamabad\”.

The name \”Neknamabad\” was used for the town for some time but slowly fell into disuse and the records of the 18th century refer to the rulers not as Nawabs of Nekanamabad but Nawabs of Kadapa. Except for some years in the beginning, Kadapa District was the seat of the Mayana Nawabs in the 18th century. With the British occupation of the tract in 1800 CE it became the headquarters of one of the four subordinate collectorates under the principal collector Sir Thomas Munro.

Pilgrims first visited the Devuni Kadapa Temple before going to Tirumala Balaji Temple.Dancing Lord Ganapathi idol is present at Mukha Mandapam. Also, Golden Lizard idol is present in the roof of the temple, and devotees touches it to get rid of their malefic Doshas. The temple Architecture is in Vijayanagara Style. This temple construction and the sculpture in the Vijayanagara Architecture style. This place is said to be Tallapaka Annamacharya visited temple. This temple is under taken by the tirumala tirupathi devasthanam.

Entering into Hindu temple, devuni kadapa for men the dress code in shirt & trouser, dhoti or pyjamas with upper cloth. for women, lady the preferred dress code is saree or half saree with blouse or chudidar with pyjama and upper cloth. Low waist jeans, sleeveless tops, short length are strickly not allowed.
